Subject: Mono Basin Clearinghouse Updates for April 2, 2002

Dear Friends,
Just a couple of new additions to www.monobasinresearch.org this month:

-------------------------------------------------------
ONLINE REPORTS
-------------------------------------------------------

PRBO Eastern Sierra Riparian Songbird Conservation Project 2001 Progress Report Yet another report on the ESRSCP. This one is big, a 7 MB download, and some of the y-axis labels on graphs did not turn out so well. Still, fascinating results that really make a lot of sense based on the habitat and disturbance histories of the different Mono Basin creeks. See http://www.monobasinresearch.org/onlinereports/esrscp.htm

Also, we posted photos of PRBO researchers, birds, and kids at one of their sites on Lee Vining Creek. See the page above, scroll to the bottom to see the photos, and click on the photo to enlarge it and see the caption. Thanks to Sacha Heath for helping with the captions.

It was the coldest and windiest March in the last 3 years.
See http://www.monobasinresearch.org/data/weather.htm

-------------------------------------------------------
ALSO OF INTEREST
-------------------------------------------------------

...but not on the Clearinghouse (from the Yosemite Association's Sierra Nature Notes):

Low risk of getting Giardiasis from Sierra water--you are more likely to get it from your campmates! Also new on the Sierra Nature Notes site is an article on Sierra Bighorn Sheep by John Wehausen. Read the Giardia article at http://www.yosemite.org/naturenotes/Giardia.htm
