Subject: October updates to www.monobasinresearch.org

Dear friends,

LOTS OF NEW RESOURCES AVAILABLE: CLEARINGHOUSE GROWS BY 6X!
We've been working hard on the latest round of updates to the Mono Basin Clearinghouse, and lucky for you, that means lots of new Mono Basin information online. In addition, we've moved a lot of information from the Mono Lake Website to the Mono Basin Clearinghouse, so that if you are doing research, you only need to go to one place! You can now also search each section of the Clearinghouse separately, which should help target your searches to one category of information.

The following resources have been added:

Reports from PRBO's Eastern Sierra Riparian Songbird Conservation Project
http://www.monobasinresearch.org/onlinereports/esrscp.htm

Bird counts, weather and climate summaries, and hydrology information
http://www.monobasinresearch.org/data

SWRCB hearing transcripts from the 1993-94 evidentiary hearings and the 1997 hearings on the restoration plans
http://www.monobasinresearch.org/legal

A list of current research that originally appeared in the Spring-Summer 1998 Mono Lake Newsletter and has been added to since then. This list is very much in progress, and you can help us keep it up to date! If you know of current research, let us know--email me. If you have more information about any of the research listed, like a project summary, please email it to us as well!

A political chronology of the protection of Mono Lake, and topic profiles of meromixis, alkali dust sources, waterfowl habitat, and the basin's creeks
http://www.monobasinresearch.org/timelines

New links! Including a search engine that searches all the US Government Webpages; a searchable database of over 50,000 plants, animals, and ecological communities; and LADWP's new real time hydrologic data Website!
http://www.monobasinresearch.org/links

HOW TO SEARCH ONLY ONE SECTION
Click on the section you want to search, and scroll down to the bottom of the page. For all sections except "Reports and Studies Database" and "Links", you will find a link near the bottom that says "Search Only This Section". Click on the link and type in your search! Advanced search queries are supported by this search engine: click on the "Click here for help on searching" for how to get the most out of this search engine. Unfortunately, we currently have no way of searching Adobe PDF files online, however we can search those files here in the office. If you need to search these files and the online search options aren't helpful enough, contact me and I can do a search for you here and email you the results.

UNSUBSCRIBE
If at any time you decide that you no longer wish to receive these occasional updates about additions to this Website, please e-mail unsubscribe@monobasinresearch.org and ask to be removed from the list. When you do so, you will receive an automatic response confirming you have requested to be removed from the list and you will be removed soon after.

Thanks for your interest in Mono Basin research,
Greg
