Dr. Sally MacIntyre demonstrates the operation of an “acoustic Doppler current profiler” (ADCP), used to map currents in Mono Lake.  This device sends out sonar beams in 3 directions and uses the differences in the signals to map the vertical distribution of currents in the lake.
